Job Description
Under the direct supervision of the Training Coordinator (TC), the Training Site Secretary (TSS) assists the Training Administrative Assistant (TAA) in secretarial and logistical support, knowledge management, property management and inventory, to ensure an effective and efficient Pre-Service Training (PST). The Site Secretary also collaborates with the Senior Language and Culture Facilitator (SLCF) and serves as a back-up LCF, working directly with American Peace Corps Trainees in helping them learn about the Nepali language and culture. Under normal working conditions, the TSS works on site at the PST site in a Nepali community during the contract period. TSS delivers and participates in small group information sessions for Peace Corps Trainees (PCTs) and Peace Corps Volunteers (PCVs) in person. All staff, including TSS, are expected to follow local and Peace Corps COVID-19 safety mitigation measures during inperson sessions or events. TSS may need to conduct information sessions using online/virtual formats if Peace Corps decides to go virtual due to rises in COVID cases.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1. Secondary Education level degree (High-school or College).
- 2. Fluent in both written and spoken Nepali and English.
- 3. Excellent computer skills, must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
- 4. Ability to type both in English and Nepali.
- 5. Highly organized and ability to multi-task.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1. Knowledge/skill in bookkeeping/accounting.
- 2. One year or more of administrative experience with an international corporation or INGO.
