Technical Project Coordinator – TPC – (Level 7-8)-1, SADP Project, Doti Based With Frequent Travel To Project Sites)
Local Initiatives for Biodiversity, Research and Development (LI-BIRD) is a non-profit making, non-governmental organization (NGO) established in October 1995 with its Head Office in Pokhara, Nepal. Sustainable Agricultural Development among Smallholder and Marginalized Farmers in Far-western Hill of Nepal (SADP) is a European Union (EU) and DAN CHURCH AID (DCA) funded project implemented in Achham and Doti districts of Nepal. DCA is responsible for the overall management and coordination of the project while LI-BIRD bears the responsibility for providing technical support to the implementing partners Malika Development Organization (MDO) in Achham district and Equality Development Centre (EDC) in Doti district. The project aims to improve the food and nutrition security of the poor and marginalized farmers of Accham and Doti districts through increased agricultural productivity, increased commercialization in agriculture and enhanced capacity of the farmers. 

Technical Project Coordinator – TPC – (Level 7-8)-1, SADP Project, Doti based with frequent travel to project sites.

Job Summary: Reporting to Programme Coordinator, the TPC shall be responsible to provide technical support to implementing partners of the project and ensuring the quality delivery contributing to the project goal, objectives and outcomes. TPC's duties include; project planning, timely implementation, M&E and reporting of the project; maintaining good working relationship with all project partners, DADOs and other stakeholders. 

Competencies and Personal Specification: 

  • Strong conceptual, inter-personal, communication, negotiation, facilitation and representation skills;
  • Experienced in programme planning, implementation, monitoring evaluation and reporting;
  •  Experienced in value chain development and marketing of agricultural commodities; farmers’ field schools; Willingness to work closely with the farming community in remote areas of the country;
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor staff and partners and manage staff;
  • Experienced in effective management of project finance;
  • Experienced in maintaining congenial working relationship with all the associated stakeholders of the project; and Outstanding ability to cope with stress, make decisions and appropriate communication.  

Education and Experience: MSc in Agriculture.  with 3 years of work experience in relevant field.
