Job Description

United Mission to Nepal (UMN) is an international development organization which strives to address root causes of poverty leading towards fullness of life, as it serves the people of Nepal. Multicultureal teams of Nepali and volunteer expatriate staff work alongside local organisations in partnership through seven field offices in ten districts of the country. 

UMN is seeking to fill a key position based in Dhading with frequent travel to Kathmandu to lead, manage, co-ordinate and facilitate the disaster response work in Dhading District participate in an assessment process

Postion: Team Leader - Dhading Diaster Response Programme

Qualification and experience:

  • Master Degree in any relevant field from a recognized University (Master Degree in Disaster Management and/or Development Studies preferred);
  • More than 5 years experience of managing development projects and people, preferably involved in disaster response/recovery.
  • Good understanding of development work, preferably with faith-based organisations.
  • Experience of working in a post-disaster programme an advantage
  • Proactive
  • A leader with good interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective working relationships with a broad range of people.
  • Advanced planning, budgeting, reporting and organisations skills.
  • Willingness to travel frequently
  • Excellent language and communication skills in both Nepali and English

Salary: NRS 102,800 per month
