The Local Governance and Community Development Programme- Phase II (LGCDP-H) is a national programme which is being implemented by theMinistry of Federal Affairs and Local Development (MoFALD) and supported by various development partners. The overall objective of LGCDP-H is to contribute towards the national goal of poverty reduction. The programme focuses on effective, equitable and sustainable service delivery through community empowerment, capacity development and policy reform to improve local governance. The programme covers both the demand and supply side of local governance reform. LGCDP-II is seeking applications from qualified, talented and result oriented Nepalese citizens for the following positions:
Post Title: Regional Governance & Capacity Development Expert (NPPP III)
No. of positions: Two
Duty Stations: Any of the two Regional offices (Dhanagadhi/ Nepalganj/ I Tetauda/ Pokhara/Kavre/Biratnagar)
Duration: Annual contract and extended based on performance
Job responsibilities: Regional Governance & Capacity Development (RGCD) expert is responsible for: assisting and supporting local bodies in the implementation of all LGCDP II activities; communicate general LGCDP II priorities and provide backstopping support to DGEs and UGEs; provide backstopping support to demand side institutions and report progress and issues to PCU; provide technical support to local bodies, DGEs and UGEs with respect to the implementation of local governance activities as outlined in the ASIP for all outputs;
Qualifications and experiences required: Completion of Master degree in public administration, social/political science or related field. At least 7 years' experience of working on local governance issues in Nepal; Demonstrated track record of delivering high quality reports on time; Experience of working in a national government-managed programme would be an advantage. Fluent command of spoken and written Nepali and English;
