Major Responsibilities: The Program Associate will support in areas related to vulnerability and risk assessment, climate change adaptation, renewable energy, and other sectors relevant to climate change in Nepal. S/he will be involved in implementing, reporting, and documenting lessons on WWF’s Nepal’s Climate and Energy projects and activities in the field. The candidate will work with all thematic goals and cross-cutting themes of WWF. This position requires travel to remote areas both in the Terai and Mountains.
Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management (NRM), Development Studies, Forestry, or other related disciplines with at least two years of experience in implementing projects related to climate change. Proven experience in working with local governments, civil society, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), and NRM institutions will be an added advantage. This position requires strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and keep track of priorities. S/he should be a self-starter with the ability to take initiative as needed and work well under minimal supervision. Good facilitation skills and communication skills including written and spoken English and Nepali are required.
