Job Description

Nick Simons Institute (NSI) is an organization with a mission to innovate solutions in rural healthcare — through training, hospital support and advocating for healthcare workers with the government of Nepal since its establishment in 2006. NSI's main spheres of work has been to provide appropriate Trainings to the rural healthcare workers, Hospital Support Program (HSP) and Research, Advocacy and Monitoring (RAM) towards enhancing rural healthcare. Under the Training program, NSI facilitates conducting training activities in partnering with National Health Training Centre (NHTC), the Department of Health Services (DoHs), Teku for a Diploma in Biomedical Equipment Engineering (DBEE) affiliated to Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT), therefore seeks a suitable candidate for the following position:

Core Responsibilities
  • Teaching practical and theoretical classes on Biomedical equipment prevention, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Developing and improving training materials, as well as curriculum.
  • Assist in maintenance and repair activities.
  • Continuing in learning about new areas in the field of Biomedical Equipment.

  • Leader, motivator, and encourager.
  • Creative: can think outside the box to find new solutions.
  • Able to keep track of modern technologies developed in biomedical equipment. Flexible, positive, and proactive approach to work. Ability and willingness to undertake field travel and set-up BMET lab in the rural site.
Basic Requirement
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Biomedical Engineering from recognized institution, with 3 years' experience in maintenance and repair work on medical equipment associated with Government or International Non-Government institutions or private sectors.
  • OR Diploma in Biomedical Engineering from recognized institution, with 5 years' work experience in maintenance and repair work on medical equipment associated with Government or International Non-Government institutions or private sectors.
  • Language proficiency: Fluent of both English and Nepali
