Job Description

Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) has been working in Nepal since 1995, implementing grant aid and technical assistance program on behalf of the government of Republic of Korea. Among our various programs, especially in Health sector, KOICA has committed to improve health status of vulnerable population and achieving universal health coverage in Nepal. We have been mainly working in maternal, neonatal and child health and health financing issues. Currently KOICA is seeking qualified Health Researcher.

Position: Health Researcher (1)

Type of Contract: Fixed-term Contract Duration: 1 year (3 months probation, renewable after performance review)

Duty Station: KOICA Nepal Office in Lalitpur (with occasional field visits)

Job Responsibility

  • Conduct literature review and collect information on health-related policy, programs and data from Nepali government and external development partners
  • Provide technical assistance in designing health-related studies and needs assessment and analyzing data in quantitative and qualitative way
  • Assist overall management on KOICA supported Nepal Health Program and perform any other duties as requested by Deputy Representative and Health Specialist of KOICA Nepal Office
  • Support monitoring and evaluation on KOICA's ongoing projects in health sector
  • Coordinate and liaise with relevant stakeholders (government, external development partners, CSOs etc.) for effective implementation of KOICA's health projects
  • Ensure to create knowledge management system including collection of lessons learned and best practices

Qualifications 

  • Master's degree in public health or relevant fields
  • More than 2 years of experience in research related works in national and international organizations
  • Knowledge and experience in "public health" and familiarity with the government organization will be an advantage
  • Knowledge of various research methods and use of research tools
  • Open to domestic travel to do field research
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills particularly in dealing with various stakeholders from both government and external development partners
  • Fluency in both spoken and written Nepali and English
  • Computer proficiency in MS office program such as word, excel and power point and other software for data processing
