Job Description

CARE Nepal hereby invites applications from interested candidates for the following full time positions for the 5 years USAID funded Sustainable Action for Resilience and Food Security(SABAL)

DRR and CCA Assistant

(For 4 years based in either Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Kavre, Sindupalchowk, Dolakha)

Key responsibilities:

The DRR and CCA Assistant will support the implementation of the project through district level facilitation, technicalbackstopping and coordination. The role will ensure successfull planning, implementation, integration and mainstreaming of climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction with development intervention at district level.The DRR/CCA Assistant will coordinat with the communiites, local facilitators and other stake holders to accomplish SABAL activities in one of the five project district. As a DRR/CCA Assistant, s/he will be responsible for the overall implementation of the DRR and CCA program activities at district and community level. S/he will also be responsible for program effort to generate new concepts and ideas for enhancing program effectiveness. 

Preferred Qualification and Experience: 

Intermediate degree in Forestry, Agriculture, Climate Change, Disaster Management, NRM, or any relevant subjects from a recognized university with at least 3 years of practical experience in environment, NRM, DRR and CCA sectors. Facilitation in community based adaptation and disaster planning would be added value.
