- Pradarshani Marg, Kathmandu
Founded in 1991, the Public Health Concern Trust, Nepal (phect-NEPAL) is a secular, non-political, not-for-profit, national-level non-government organization committed to improving the health sector in Nepal. The organization is registered at the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council, Nepal.
To build a society with healthy individuals. We strongly advocate the fact that every individual has a right to healthcare and therefore strive to provide better and affordable health care services to people in both urban as well as rural areas of Nepal.
The lifestyle for the majority of the people of Nepal had largely remained below a satisfactory level for decades. With the introduction of the parliamentary democracy in 1990, there were rising expectations that the quality of life and general health would improve. Despite a few initiatives, the lack of strategic planning and sustainable measures prevented the government from improving the overall health conditions of the people. Therefore, there was an increasing need for non-governmental organizations to step in to act as a partner for national development. This was the very reason that lead to the establishment of phect-NEPAL in 1991.
