About Company

Panchakanya group has grown into a tree with its branches spread over places in Nepal. We are serving communities with sustainable trading solutions for decades. But the seeds of this group started with the footsteps of its chairman, Mr Prem Bahadur Shrestha, who invented the idea of trading in potatoes in Fikkal in the hills of eastern Nepal when he was still in his teens. The journey has been challenging and quite interesting though. The initial period was a challenging one when Mr Prem Bahadur Shrestha faced major losses in business. But nothing could stop him as his perseverance and belief in positive approach took Panchakanya Group to heights and it became a prominent business house in Nepal.

The journey started during the 1970s, when the chairman decided to diversify his business and moved his base to the plains in Jhapa, in the eastern part of Nepal. This was because he saw more opportunities in the Terai than in the hills. Though his initial venture in Terai was in the trade of timber and there were several sawmills in operation back then. Later in some years, Mr Prem Bahadur Shrestha for the first time in his business life generated some profits. The Panchakanya Group’s initial industrial venture was the establishment of a modern rice mill, Panchakanya Rice Mill, in 1971, in Jhapa. It was undoubtedly the first steps of the establishment of Panchakanya Group as a business organization. The decision to establish an agro-based company earned the organization tremendous goodwill in the market. This gradually developed a lot of trust and confidence among the financial and credit institutions. Since then, there has been no looking back and the Panchakanya Group has forayed into more than 10 industries.

Employees at Panchakanya are not just staff - they are family. We value the talent and effort here, which leads to higher job satisfaction. We provide better platform to our staff members to highlight their talent and prove themselves.
